In the first part of this episode, Jackie talks extensively about how she helped Greystar to grow their portfolio internationally. She shares her experience of adapting to cultural differences while also introducing aspects of Greystar’s model to make those new assets successful. Examples include moving from a centralized, technology-driven system for leasing and serving residents to having employees onsite to meet residents’ needs while providing exceptional service.
The second half of the episode focuses on Rhone’s own career path. She shares her insight and tips for learning all aspects of the business in order to become a leader, valuing mentors and learning from them, and putting in the hard work to continue to educate yourself. She advises those who seek a similar career path to always be learning and to become problem-solvers.
Finally, Rhone discusses her current project, which is a division of age-restricted active adult communities that are now in 14 states. She envisions Greystar being a leader in this space and is proud of their growth in spite of the challenges that 2020 has presented.
